An individual avatar image and a customized welcome message can be added to the chatbot. This allows the chatbot to be better aligned with the branding of your publication or brand and gives it a recognizable appearance.

Custom avatar image

An avatar graphic can be added to the chatbot. The avatar is displayed in the chat as a visual representation of the chatbot and appears both in the mobile apps and in the Browser Client.

A custom avatar image can help make the chatbot more recognizable and visually align it with your brand, publication, or corporate design.

Supported file formats

The following image formats are currently supported for the avatar image:

• PNG
• JPEG / JPG
• GIF
• TIFF

Recommendations for the image file

Images of any size can be uploaded. For display purposes, the graphic is automatically scaled to 128 × 128 pixels.

For optimal display quality, we recommend using a PNG file with 1024 × 1024 pixels.

This specification is a recommendation for particularly good image quality and is not a technical requirement.

Display note

Regardless of the original image size, the avatar is automatically adjusted for display. Depending on the source image, this may result in differences in display quality.

For best results, the image should ideally be square and show the central subject clearly.

Individual welcome message per chatbot

In addition, the chatbot’s welcome message can be customized. This is the message readers see when opening the chatbot tab or starting a new chat.

The welcome message can be defined separately for each chatbot. This makes it possible to equip different chatbots with their own wording, tone of voice, or additional information.

HTML formatting

The welcome message can be formatted using HTML. In addition to plain text, this allows additional formatting and content, for example:

• highlights
• paragraphs
• links
• images
• branding elements
• sponsor references

This means the welcome message can be used not only as a greeting, but also to include additional information or visual elements.
