Creating and Managing Custom Tabs
With the Custom Tabs feature, you can individually design the navigation within the app. Different types of content can be displayed in dedicated tabs.
1. What are Custom Tabs?
Custom Tabs are customizable tabs within the app that can be filled with different types of content. Several tab types are available to present content in a structured and clear way.
It is possible to create multiple tabs of the same type. The tabs can be found in the Workbench under My App > Tabs.
2. Available Tab Types
You can choose from the following tab types:
Highlights
Issues
Articles
Downloads
My Downloads (App)
Webview
Chatbot
My Issues
Bookmarks
3. How to Create a New Tab
Click on “Create Tab.”
Enter a name or label for the tab (this will be displayed in the app).
Define on which platforms (App/Web) the tab should be available.
Select the desired tab type.
Choose a category, if available for the selected tab type (optional).
For Webview tabs: Enter the URL of the external page.
Confirm by clicking “Create.”
4. Tab Management
Activate/Deactivate: A tab must be activated to be visible in the frontend.
Define Start Page: One tab must be set as the start page. This tab will be displayed first when the app is launched. If no start page is defined, an error message may occur when accessing the tabs.
Change Order: The order of the tabs can be adjusted afterward using the arrow icons in the overview.
Edit: Tabs can be modified at any time via the edit (pencil) icon (title, type, URL, category, etc.).
Delete: A tab can be completely removed using the delete button of the respective tab.
5. Requirements for Certain Tabs
Chatbot: This tab can only be used if the chatbot module is booked. An existing chatbot will be integrated automatically.
My Downloads / My Issues / Bookmarks: These tabs display personalized content and are only visible within the app.
